Message from PAPR Chair Alex Marange
Unfortunately, we are continuing to hear push back centered on cost concerns for fixing Tier 6, and it is clear that we need to turn up the pressure as budget discussions intensify. We need to get our message out to legislators and the Governor about why NOW is the time to Fix Tier 6.
NYSUT released a press statement outlining the urgent need for fixing Tier 6 in this year’s budget. We included a list of hundreds of members of the Assembly, State Senate, and statewide officials who have publicly called for fixing Tier 6, as well as a list of employers including mayors, county executives, county legislators and town and city councils who recognize why fixing Tier 6 is so important.
