NYSUT members Upstate have been reporting that anti-union canvassers from a group called New Choice NY have started knocking on their doors. These canvassers are coming around to try and convince teachers to opt-out of their union. In the days after the Janus decision, similar tactics were used but were largely ineffective as NYSUT has reported losing only a handful of teachers statewide. While we have not heard of any reports about New Choice NY or their affiliated groups knocking on doors on Long Island we want you to be prepared. Below is some information to be prepared for these canvassers as well as two flyers you can print off and put on your door to let these canvassers know that you do not want to talk to them. If we do hear reports about canvassers on Long Island we will notify you through future issues of The Loop.
