PERB Case

"I believe this the most recent PERB case on point from the Board involving surveillance.  It actually changed the law slightly and made it a little more employee friendly.  Go straight to page 6.  Your negotiated language is excellent.  I would get the word out that they (the District) have the right unilaterally to put camera's in for security and other reasons that don't impact employees but because they were going in, you had to negotiate language for the protection of staff which is negotiable and you guys did very well.  If you didn't negotiate, you would have cameras installed (you can't stop the installation) with no restrictions on the use of the cameras which could have a negative impact on staff.
