On Tuesday, November 7th New Yorkers from across the state are going to the polls to vote on whether New York should hold a Constitutional Convention. The BTA is asking that all members Vote No on this proposition. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue, this is an issue of protecting many of the laws and rights that we have fought so hard for. Groups from across the political spectrum, like unions and environmentalists, have united together to oppose the convention. Below I have included a video that explains the danger of a Constitutional Convention, please share this on Facebook, Twitter and all of your social networking platforms. While New York is a strong union state, there are not enough of us to defeat the Constitutional Convention alone.  We need all of you to speak to your friends, family, and neighbors about the importance of voting No. Also below is a flyer that maps out some of the most common issues that people are talking about in regards to the Constitutional Convention. Please take a look at these and remember to head to the polls on Tuesday, November 7th and Vote No.

A special thank you to Keith Fasano, Donna Hendrickson, Eileen Ratto, Robin LaBarbara, Kerrin Brennan who helped man the phone banks at the NYSUT Suffolk Regional Office on 11/2.
