Dear Colleagues,
On March 8, educators from across New York State will come together in Albany for a Fix Tier 6 Rally—and your participation has never been more important.
To make participation as accessible as possible, a bus will be provided to Albany and back, and all logistics will be fully taken care of. The bus will depart around 8:00 AM and return around 6:00 PM the same day. More detailed logistics—including the exact pickup location and schedule—will be shared closer to the date.
Why this matters:
Tier 6 is unfair, costly, and driving talented educators out of the profession. Change only happens when we show up together, and on March 8, our presence will speak louder than any letter or email ever could.
Seats are limited, and committing early helps us plan transportation and demonstrate our collective strength. If you care about fixing Tier 6, this is the moment to act.
NYSUT has not organized a statewide action like this in a very long time. This moment is rare, intentional, and powerful. Momentum is building, legislators are paying attention, and this rally represents our best opportunity yet to finally fix Tier 6 and secure fair retirement benefits for current and future educators.
We are setting a goal of 50 participants from our local. A strong turnout is essential. Lawmakers need to see—clearly and unmistakably—that educators are united and serious about change.
In solidarity,
Alex Marange
