Testing season is here once again with state standardized tests beginning this week and then continuing again during the first week in May. NYSUT and BTA support a parent's choice to opt their children out of these tests. Recently, the New York State Education Commissioner sent out a letter to encourage parents to allow their students to take the tests. NYSUT has issued a response to this letter. I encourage all members to take a look at the response which is provided below.
